Barnard Park Football Pitch – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings and use of the football pitch at Barnard Park, Islington, London. By making a booking or using the facility, you agree to comply with the following:

1. Bookings & Payment

1.1 All bookings must be made via the official booking system (Better/GLL platform) or authorised partners.
1.2 Payment must be made in full at the time of booking.
1.3 Bookings are non-transferable without prior written consent from the facility management.
1.4 Refunds will only be issued if the pitch is closed due to unsafe conditions, or if cancellation is made with at least 48 hours’ notice.

1. Player Conduct

2.1 All players and spectators must behave in a respectful manner towards staff, other users, and local residents.
2.2 Abusive, aggressive, or antisocial behaviour will result in immediate removal from the facility and possible suspension of booking privileges.
2.3 Alcohol, drugs, and smoking (including vaping) are strictly prohibited on the pitch and surrounding playing areas.

1. Pitch Rules

3.1 Appropriate footwear must be worn – moulded studs or astro boots are permitted; no metal studs allowed.
3.2 Only booked participants may enter the playing area.
3.3 The pitch must not be used for activities that could damage the surface.
3.4 All litter must be placed in bins provided.
3.5 No food or chewing gum is permitted on the pitch.

1. Facilities

4.1 Changing rooms and toilets are subject to availability and may be closed for maintenance without notice.
4.2 Users are responsible for the safekeeping of personal belongings – the facility accepts no liability for lost or stolen items.

1. Health & Safety

5.1 Users participate at their own risk.
5.2 It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure they are physically fit to take part.
5.3 The facility reserves the right to close the pitch at short notice due to unsafe weather or maintenance requirements.
5.4 First aid kits are available on-site; please contact a staff member in case of injury.

1. Public Access & Noise

6.1 Barnard Park is a public space – please be considerate to other park users.
6.2 Amplified music or sound systems are not permitted without prior written approval.
6.3 Activities must conclude at the end of the booking slot to allow for turnover and avoid disturbance to local residents.

1. Liability

7.1 The facility and its operators are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained on-site, except where caused by negligence.
7.2 Hirers are responsible for any damage caused to the pitch, goals, or equipment during their booking.

1. Enforcement

8.1 Breach of these Terms & Conditions may result in immediate termination of your booking without refund.
8.2 Repeated breaches may result in a ban from using the facility.
