About this game
Long-running 5/6/7/8-a-side game. Broadly an athletic veterans game played with quite a friendly but competitive atmosphere. Average age is 35-40 but fitness levels are good and standard is decent.
Played on a hard sand-based astro/carpet pitch (astro turf boots are best - people in trainers tend to slide all over the shop and blades make it too hard to turn). Wide & low 5-a-side style goals.
Teams picked on arrival and one side wears yellow bibs (so please try to avoid wearing yellow shirts).
We play for an hour. Starting at 6:30pm (please arrive 5 minutes before) and finishing at 7:30ish (normally with a drink or two in a local pub after). We rotate taking turns to go in goal every 5 minutes or so.
The cost is £7 CASH per game or alternatively you can pay directly via bank transfer.
General Rules:
Only the keeper is allowed in the area (D-shaped) so no touches inside the box.
No pass backs to the goalkeeper.
Overhead height is allowed. We don't play throw ins (just carry on off the fence or net) or corners (if it goes over the fence the keeper restarts).
No dirty stuff - we've all got jobs to go to the next day. Just play to enjoy it.
