Looking to play football in south Belfast? Queens Upper Malone Play fields have floodlit 3G pitches along with grass pitches, spread across one of the biggest sports sites in the city. It's easy to reach for players from Malone, Finaghy, Taughmonagh, Stranmillis, the Lisburn Road, and Dunmurry.

Accessibility & Location 🌇

The ground sits on the southern edge of the city, about two miles out from the main Queen's campus. It covers over 100 acres of playing fields, with the House of Sport right next door and the quiet residential streets of Malone around it. Barnett Demesne and the Lagan Valley Regional Park are close by, so it feels green and open rather than built up.

Facilities 👇

Pitches: 2x floodlit 3G pitches. Most games happen on Pitch 4 with 3x 5/6 aside pitches
Changing Rooms & Showers: Available. There are changing rooms in the Clubhouse and more beside the grass pitches, all with showers.

Directions 📍

Entrance Guide: Enter from Upper Malone Road, near the Dub Lane bus stop. The Clubhouse next to the Arena Pitch is the main building on site.
Buses: The 8A, 8B, 8C, and 8D all stop at Dub Lane on Upper Malone Road, with direct services to and from the city centre.
Train: Finaghy and Balmoral are the nearest stations but both are a fair walk away so the bus is the easier option.

FAQs 🏟

What boots should I wear? Moulded boots or astro trainers on the 3G pitches. Metal studs are not allowed on the 3G.
Are there toilets? Yes, toilets are in the Clubhouse and the changing blocks by the pitches.
