Our Monday futsal session is open to the wider community, with a mixture of training and competitive, friendly 5-a-side futsal matches.

Please arrive 10 minutes early. Late arrivals may risk losing their place.

✅ Game On

We aim to have a minimum of 10 players at every session, so the game can still go ahead even if all the places advertised on Footy Addicts have not been booked. Our sessions also include registered Minds United players who do not book through Footy Addicts.

In the unlikely event that we do not have enough players for the session to go ahead, any players who paid and booked through Footy Addicts will be issued a refund.

👥 Attendance

If you can't make the session, please remove your name from the Footy Addicts list as soon as possible so your place can become available to someone else.

No spot selling, swapping or trading is allowed. Places must only be booked and managed through Footy Addicts.

🟨 Game Host / Referee

Our sessions are hosted by Minds United and matches are overseen by a qualified referee, helping to keep the games organised, fair and flowing.

⚽ Session Format

20 minutes — Training / warm-up
40 minutes — 5-a-side matches

All matches are played 5-a-side (4 outfield players + 1 goalkeeper).

The match format will depend on attendance:

2 teams: One full 5-a-side match.

3 or 4 teams: Fast-paced rotating 5-a-side games. Each game lasts 7 minutes OR until one team scores 2 goals — whichever comes first. The winning team stays on.

4 teams: If a game ends in a draw after 7 minutes, both teams come off and the next two teams play.

3 teams: If a game ends in a draw after 7 minutes, Rock Paper Scissors decides which team stays on.

Goalkeepers: The goalkeeper will change after every match, unless someone wants to stay in goal. This helps give everyone a fair opportunity to play outfield.

Teams will be selected as evenly as possible to keep the games competitive and enjoyable.

The number of teams and individual playing time may vary depending on attendance.

⚽ Futsal Game Rules

We play using futsal-style rules, adapted where necessary for our community sessions.

5-a-side only — 4 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper per team.

No throw-ins — the ball is kicked back into play from the touchline.

Kick-ins should be taken promptly, with the ball stationary on the touchline.

Goalkeepers restart play by throwing the ball out from their penalty area.

Slide tackles are allowed, but must be controlled and not reckless or dangerous. The referee will have the final decision on challenges and fouls.

The aim is to keep the games fast, competitive and enjoyable for everyone.

👟 Footwear Rules

Astro trainers only.

❌ No moulded boots
❌ No studs
❌ No blades

Players wearing unsuitable footwear will not be able to take part.

📝 Registration — Required for Everyone

All players must register with Minds United Sports Club CIC before taking part, including players who have booked through Footy Addicts.

Registration only takes a few minutes. We'll ask for some basic details and take a photo for your member profile so we can complete your registration.

If this is your first session, please arrive early enough to complete your registration before the session starts.

💙 Free Places Through Minds United

If you are experiencing mental health difficulties or have a disability, you may be eligible to access our club's sports programme free of charge.

Eligible participants do not need to book or pay through Footy Addicts.

Instead, please message us directly to arrange a short meeting at our clubhouse. This gives us an opportunity to introduce you to our organisation, explain the programme and complete your registration.

Once registered and accepted onto the programme, you can attend eligible sessions for free.

🏆 Interested in Playing for Our Futsal Team?

These sessions can also provide an opportunity for players who are interested in representing Minds United FC in competitive futsal.

Players who show the required ability, attitude, commitment and teamwork may have the opportunity to be invited into our futsal team.

Our competitive opportunities include playing in the National Futsal League, as well as other tournaments and competitions, with the potential for selected players to take part in fixtures and tournaments elsewhere in the UK and abroad.
